How to Check In?
Check-in begins 24 hours before and ends 45 minutes prior to the departure of your flight. You can proceed to the airline check-in counters to get your boarding tickets. Alternatively, you can use your mobile device to check in for the flights. You are able to do this 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure.
Baggage Allowance & Fees
Travellers are entitled to carry one standard article and 1 personal article, both not weighing more than 10kg. There are different charges for travellers wishing to reach different destinations. The maximum free checked baggage is 23kg. Any weight above 23kg is chargeable. Prohibited items include corrosive, aerosols, explosives, inflammable liquids and solids, sharp instruments, firearms and compressed gases.
There are four classes of service on the flight. United First, United Business First, Economy Plus and United Economy. United First passengers are entitled to priority check-ins, baggage handling and boarding. On long haul destinations from India to United States and vice versa, first class is branded as Global First and passengers are able to enjoy lounge access, amenity kits featuring Murad products , customised three-course meals and personal video monitors along with fully lie-flat seats. They also have access to the United First Lounge at selected airports. United Business First passengers enjoy almost the same perks but do not have access to the United First lounge at selected airports. United Business First passengers on international routes also enjoy complimentary meal and beverage service, in-seat entertainment systems and on most flights, fully lie-flat seats. On international routes, United Economy passengers enjoy seatback entertainment on selected aircraft, as well as complimentary meal and non-alcoholic beverage service. Alcoholic beverages are complimentary on international trans-Pacific flights and flights within Asia, and they are available for purchase on other international routes. Economy Plus passengers enjoy up to five inches of legroom in the front of the Economy cabin.
It is completely free to make your flight bookings online. However, there are service charges in addition to any changes to the price of your fare if you need to make changes to your booking, cancel a flight or buy a new ticket. Costs do vary according to different factors such as which country you are in and how flexible your ticket is.
Passengers traveling in United Economy on flights longer than two hours receive complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and can purchase snack boxes. On flights longer than three hours, United Economy passengers are offered selections such as salads and sandwiches for purchase. Seatback entertainment is available to all passengers traveling on B767 and B777 aircraft on international routes. United First and United Business passengers traveling on B747 and B767 aircraft enjoy entertainment systems with audio and video on demand and 15.4-inch monitors. United First passengers traveling on B777 aircraft on international itineraries enjoy a personal videotape system, featuring a selection of movies. Overhead monitors are available to passengers travelling in United Economy on B747 aircraft on international routes.
