Hyderabad Airport (IATA: HYD, ICAO: VOHS), also known as Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (named after former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi) is located at Shamshabad, about 22 km south of downtown Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. For the financial year 2010-11, it was the 6th busiest airport in the country in terms of international and overall passenger traffic. Hyderabad Airport has the capacity to handle 12 million passengers per annum.

Hyderabad Airport is the first Greenfield airport in the region with two runways. Hyderabad Airport is the proud recipient of the Bes Garden Award - 2012 at the Hyderabad Garden Festival. For the first time in an Indian airport, a Photo Kiosk has been installed at Hyderabad Airport for passengers to capture their memories, with the Airport as a background for free of cost.

A non-stop Airport Shuttle Service, Aero Express is connecting the Hyderabad airport to many important places of the city: Secunderabad (Near Keyes high school), Secretariat (Near A.P. Tourism Department Corporation), Masab Tank (AC Guards - before flyover), Kukatpally (Near JNTU), Hitech city (Near Shilparamam), LB Nagar (Near ‘X’ Roads), Begumpet (Near Greenlands Junction), Tarnaka (Near IICT).

Apart from Aero Express, the regular APSRTC Daily bus service to the Hyderabad airport is also available from Korutla, Metpally, Nirmal, Armoor, Nizamabad, Raichur, Tenali, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Razole & Vijayawada.
