Air Costa is a low cost Indian domestic air carrier based out of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. Part of LEPL group, the main aim behind the launch of this airline was to connect tier II and tier III cities across the country. The maintenance centre of the airline is located at Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The airline currently employs 700 people including pilots and engineers. The airline highlights its “Customer First Attitude” wherein special efforts are made to carry the longevity of excellence in every key functional area with an objective to achieve customer delight.


 In February 2012, the business group LEPL received the no-objection certificate from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Air Operators Permit (AOP) was granted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in September 2012. The airline started its operation with a pair of Embrare Jets and their first flight took off in October 2013 from Chennai.


The airline currently has 4 aircrafts and an order of 50 have been placed. Air Costa purchased two Embrare Jets, the announcement of which was made public at the Paris Air Show in June 2013. Another two E-190 jets were delivered in December and January respectively. The airline aims to possess Ten E-170s and E-190s by the end of 2014 and a total of 25 aircraft by 2018. An order of 50 E-Jets 52 from a Brazilian manufacturer has also been placed and the first delivery is scheduled in 2019.

Routes and Destinations

Currently Air Cost operates to Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati. While the main hub of the airline is Chennai International airport, Vijayawada airport is the secondary hub and Visakhapatnam International airport is the focus city of Air Costa.
