How to Check in?

Check-in begins 24 hours before and ends 45 minutes prior to the departure of your flight. You can proceed to the airline’s check-in counters to get your boarding tickets. Alternatively, you can use your mobile device to check in for the flights on the Air New Zealand website. You are able to do this 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure. It is, however, not possible to use an electronic boarding pass at the airport, you will need to print your boarding pass.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

Travellers are entitled to carry one standard article and 1 personal article, both not weighing more than 7kg. The maximum dimensions of carry-on luggage is 118 cm (length+width+height). For regional flights within New Zealand, the maximum free checked baggage is 23kg. Any weight above 23kg is chargeable for economy class passengers. Premium economy class passengers are allowed to carry on two pieces of checked luggage weighing 23kg each. Business class passengers are allowed to carry three pieces of checked luggage weighing 23kg each. Prohibited items include corrosives, aerosols, explosives, inflammable liquids and solids, sharp instruments, firearms and compressed gases.

Seating

There are four classes of service on the flight -- Business Premier, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class. Baggage allowances, meals and beverages, seat requests, priority check-in, priority baggage, entertainment and lounge access vary depending on the class. For Business Premier class, passengers are entitled to a fully lie-flat seat, complimentary meal and beverage service, an entertainment system with audio and video on demand, noise-cancelling headphones and an amenity kit that includes La Prairie products. Passengers on Business Class are entitled to lounge access prior to departure, entertainment systems with audio and video on demand, 15-inch seat recline and 50-inch pitch between seats. Premium Economy passengers enjoy premium check-in services, an entertainment system with audio and video on demand, complimentary food and beverage service and additional legroom. Economy class passengers enjoy an entertainment system with audio and video on demand and complimentary food and beverage service.

Booking Fees

It is completely free to make your flight bookings online. However, there are service charges in addition to any changes to the price of your fare if you need to make changes to your booking, cancel a flight or buy a new ticket. Costs do vary according to different factors such as which country you are in and how flexible your ticket is.

Inflight Services

Complimentary tea, coffee and water will be offered to all passengers. Passengers traveling in Business Premier, Business Class and Premium Economy receive complimentary meal and beverage service. Passengers can purchase snacks, sandwiches, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages from the In-flight Bites Menu, which may be ordered on demand by using the seat-back entertainment system on select aircraft.
