Allegiant Air- High quality, low fares

Allegiant Air is an American Airlines, specially focused on providing quality services and care for the middle and lower class citizens of America. It is primarily the property of Allegiant Travel Co; this company is known to operate not only scheduled but also chartered flights. This company has been publicly traded, employs 1800 people and is worth at least $1 Billion US Dollar! The Allegiant Air, is controlled from the headquarters situated in Enterprise a suburb of Nevada.

Allegiant Air was founded in January 1997 and was initially named the WestJet Express. But they had to rename their airlines to Allegiant Air, after suffering from a trademark dispute with WestJet Airlines in Canada. Battered by this initial blow, but not lost, they acquired their operating certificate for both scheduled and chartered flights in 1998. They also have permission to operate chartered flights to both Canada and Mexico.

Their service officially began on 15th October 1998, at that time their headquarters was in California, but they soon had to file for bankruptcy and in 2001 they had to reorganize their airlines  to a lower cost model and subsequently shifted their headquarters to Nevada.

After 2001, the airline enterprise bore Allegiant Travel Co. plenty of success and finally in 2006 they traded their company publicly on the stock exchange.

Allegiant Air has a total of 71 active air crafts and in 2013, the average age of their  fleet was approximated to be at least 22.3 years old. It is the only Airline carrier in the US that has been successful in operating all the five models of MD-80. In 2010, it added 6 Boeing 757-200 aircraft to its fleet, which are used for the majority of its services. It also started to restructure the MD-80 aircrafts so that they could hold more people, their seats were increased from 150 to 166 per plane, by eliminating the galleys in the plane, this plan was completed in September, 2013. In 2013 Allegiant Air also brought and started using Airbus A319-100 along with 9 Airbus A320-200 aircrafts.
