Germania Airlines

Germania is a privately owned German airline that serves scheduled flights to Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. It has its headquarters in Berlin with its main base in the Berlin-Schoenefeld Airport. The airline was based in Cologne, Germany, until the headquarters was moved to Tegel, Berlin. Germania flies to 63 domestic and international destinations in 20 countries and owns the low cost carrier Germania Express.

Germania also has code share agreements with Sky Express.


The Germania fleet consists of 10 Boeing 737-700s, 11 Airbus A319-100s and 4 Airbus A321-200s .

Germania’s Domestic Destinations:

Germania currently serves 14 domestic destinations. Bremen, Dresden, Dusseldorf, Erfurt/Weimar, Munster Osnabruck International Airport and Hamburg are the major hubs along with Berlin.

Germania’s International Destinations: 

Germania’s currently has scheduled flights to 10 destinations in Turkey, 8 in Spain and Greece each, 2 in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Iceland, Iraq, Morocco, Portugal, Tunisia,  and Finland each. Germania also serves scheduled flights to the Czech Republic, Iran, Lebanon, Kosovo, Israel and 3 destinations in the UK.

Available Classes

Germania offers only Economy Class, but fares differ based on services provided.


Travellers should always carry their passport with applicable visas for international flights. Government issued IDs will do for domestic flights. All passengers must have their boarding passes and photo ID with them at all times. It is important to note that passengers travelling with pets must also carry vaccination and health reports of their animals. Know more about it here.

Inflight Service

The inflight magazine, ‘FlyGermania’ is updated twice a year. The magazine will give you information on destinations that are trending in the Germania network. Long haul flights provide entertainment with TV shows and movies.  Short haul flights offer a wide range of music. Headphones can be purchased at an additional charge. In flight shopping is encouraged by the airlines.  


Germania offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, light snacks and hot and cold meals. Kosher meals can be booked in advance on certain routes.

How to Check-in

All Germania passengers are expected to check-in 2hr prior to departure as counters close 45mins prior to departure. Check-in times may change as individual airports may have specific timings. Baggage Allowances and Fees

Carry-on baggage limits are 6kgs, (8kgs for premium economy fliers to and from Iran) and cannot exceed 55x40x20cm in dimensions. Passengers can choose to pay for XL seats regardless of fare base, Basic, Classic or Premium. All Boeing 737-700s have a seating capacity of 148 each, All Airbus A319-100s have a seating capacity of 144 each and all Airbus A321-200s come with 215 seats each.

Booking Fees

Germania has different classes - Basic, which is non-refundable or transferable, Classic, which is non-refundable, but allows for change in itinerary for a fee, Flex, is refundable and allows for itinerary change. There are extra charges for changing and cancellation of itineraries.
