Lion Air is an Indonesian Carrier based out of Jakarta. Lion is Indonesia’s largest privately owned airlines and second largest low-cost carrier in South East Asia. Headquartered in Lion tower in Jakarta, Lion Air operates out of Medan Kuala Namu Airport, Soekarno–Hatta International Airport and Surabaya airport. LION Air runs scheduled flights to over 79 destinations in Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Singapore. The airline also runs charters to China, Macau and Hong Kong.

Lion Air also has stakes in Thai Lion air and Malindo Air.

The Lion Air fleet consists of 3 Airbus A330-300, 71 Boeing 737-900ER and 38 Boeing 737-800s. The fleet is set to induct 201 Boeing 737-MAXes.

Lion Air’s Domestic Destinations:

Lion Air serves 100 domestic destinations and has a very strong connectivity within Indonesia. The focus cities of Lion Air are Jakarta, Surabaya, Surakarta, Medan, Manado, Makassar, Bali, and Batam.

Lion Air’s International Destinations: 

Lion Air flies to 13 destinations in Malaysia and Thailand each, Jeddah and Medina in Saudi Arabia, 7 destinations in India and 12 destinations in China. Other destinations include Australia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Vietnam. Lion Air also runs charters to Japan, Macau and Palau.

Lion Air has a monthly in-flight magazine, ‘Lion Mag.’ In 2013, Lion Mag claimed to have the widest readership among Indonesian magazines with up to 3.4 million passenger readers in a month.

Meals

Lion Air offers non-alcoholic beverages, light snacks and delicious meals. Complementary meals are offered on select routes while on most routes, passengers can ‘buy meals on board’.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

All Lion Air Economy passengers are allowed 15kgs as checked baggage on both international and domestic routes. International and domestic business class passengers are permitted 20kgs and 30kg checked baggage respectively. All passengers are allowed 1 carry-on baggage less than 7kg and 23x34x48cms and a personal bag that can be stowed under the seat.

Seating

Lion Air has 2 seating classes, Business Class and Economy. All Airbus A330-300 come with 440 seats each, Boeing 737-900ER have 214 seats and Boeing 737-800s come with 189 seats.

Booking Fees
