Thai Smile Air is a low-cost Carrier based out of Bangkok. Thai Smile Air is a subsidiary of Thai Airways, Thailand’s flag carrier airline. The airline is based out of Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok and has Chiang Mai as a focus city. Thai Smile Air runs scheduled flights to over 26 destinations in East Asia, South Asia. Operation began in 2012 and showed profits within two years of inception.

Thai Smile Air flies to Chittagong in Bangladesh, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodia, Changsha, Chongqing and Zhengzhou in china, Gaya, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Jaipur in India, Luang Prabang in Laos, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur and Penang in Malaysia and Yangon in Myanmar.

Documents

Travellers must carry their passport or government approved photo ID, ticket, and boarding pass. Passengers are solely responsible for visa formalities on international flights.

Inflight Service

Thai Smile Air is a low-cost carrier and passengers are encouraged to carry on board their personal reads and devices for entertainment. Passengers can browse through the inflight magazine, ‘Wesmile,’ or download the magazine onto personal electronic devices. Wesmile is published every month.

Meals

Thai Smile Air offers non-alcoholic beverages, light snacks and delicious meals. Complementary meals are offered on select routes while on most routes, passengers can ‘buy meals on board’. Special needs meals can be pre-booked when reserving tickets.

How to Check-in

All international passengers of Thai Smile Air are advised to check-in at the airport 3hrs to 1hr prior to departure. All Domestic passengers should ensure they check-in at the airport 2hrs to 45mins prior to departure. Click to check-in online or through smartphone easily between 24hrs and 2hrs prior to departure. Users will be asked for passenger’s last name and Record Locator.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Smile Plus Class passengers are allowed to check in 1 pc baggage less than 30kg. Smile Class passengers are allowed 20kg. All passengers are allowed to bring 1 carry-on luggage and a bag for personal items. Carry-on luggage must not exceed 7kg and 56x45x25cms. Seating

Some of the Thai Smile Airbus A320-200s are outfitted to accommodate Smile Plus seating (extra legroom) and have a total of 166 seats. The rest are all laid out in Economy seating and have 174 seats.

Booking Fees

Thai Smile Air does not charge a booking fee if passengers book from the website. Not much is known on charges and passengers are advised to contact the airlines for details on further charges.
