WOW air, which began operations in the year 2012, is a low-cost carrier from Iceland which is based at Keflavík International Airport and headquartered in Reykjavík.


Wow Air has a total of 15 aircrafts – 1 Airbus A320neo, 2 Airbus A320-200s, and 9 Airbus A321-200s, and 3 Airbus A330-300s.

Wow Air flies to only a single destination in Iceland - Reykjavik.

Available Classes

Wow Air has an all-Economy configuration across its fleet. Only the Airbus A330-300 has 23 Premium Economy seats. However, it allows passengers to choose their fare and seat types – Wow Basic, Wow Plus, Wow Biz. Passengers can choose seats here.

Inflight Service

Wow Air doesn’t offer inflight entertainment onboard. Passengers on the North-American routes have the option of renting iPads. It also offers the Wow Magazine as reading material to its guests.  


Wow Air offers snacks, sandwiches and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to its passengers. Passengers are also allowed to bring in their own food aboard. However, meals need to be pre-booked or purchased on the flight, and aren’t complimentary. Passengers can pre-order meals up to 48 hours before. See here.

How to Check-in

Travellers can check-in for their Wow Air flight online via web, at the self-service kiosks or the Wow Air counters at the airport. Check-in desks at the airport open 3 hours before and close 45 minutes prior to departure. Passengers can do web check-in here from 24 hours before and up to 1 hour prior to flight departure. People can also use the mobile app.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Checked baggage (max 3 bags) shouldn’t weigh more than 44 lbs/20 kg each. Overweight bags are charged. Bags cannot exceed 32kg and 158 cm (not payable in cash). Passengers are allowed 12 kg x 1 pc cabin baggage measuring not more than 56x45x25 cm and 10 kg x 1 pc personal item measuring not more than 42x32x25 cm. Booking Fees
