Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, also known as Roissy Airport is the largest airport in France and is among the busiest airports in Europe. It is the main international airport serving Paris. Located about 25 km (15 miles) to the northeast of Paris, it has excellent connectivity to the main city via rails, buses and taxis. The airport got its name from the former President of France as well as the leader of the Free French Forces and the founder of the French fifth Republic, Charles de Gaulle and is also among the principal aviation centres of the world.

Built across 32.38 sq kilometers of land, Roissy Airport can handle more than 62 million passengers a year. The airport is owned and operated by Aeroports de Paris. In the year 2013, a total of 62,052,917 passengers and 497,763 movements were recorded, making it the 2nd busiest airport in Europe after London Heathrow. Equipped with four runways, the airport is the main centres for Air France, Delta Air Lines, FedEx Express and XL Airways France, flying to multitude of destinations all over the world.

Terminals –The airport comprises of three terminals – Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Terminal 1 is the oldest terminal in the airport. Built exclusively for serving Air France, Terminal 2 now handles other airlines too and is the largest of all terminals. Terminal 3 is dedicated to low cost airlines and charter flights. All the three terminals, train station and parking lots are linked through a light rail shuttle, CDGVAL. The terminals are also equipped with various extensive facilities for passengers.

The Roisypole complex, situated within the Charles de Gaulle airport consists of office buildings, restaurants, shopping areas and hotels.
