Diu Airport is a civil aerodrome situated towards 7 km west of Diu city in the Union Territory of Daman & Diu, India. It serves the city of Diu as well as adjoining areas of Gujarat that includes Veraval and Jafrabad. Operated by the Airports Authority of India, the airport is linked by regular flights from different prime cities of the country. Overview Situated at a height of 31 ft above sea level, Diu airport was founded in 1954, during which the city was a part of Portuguese India. It was on 16th Aug 1955, Transportes Aereos da India Portuguesa begun operations to Diu. The airport was linked to the cities of Goa, Daman and Karachi until December 1961 when the Indian Air Force bombed the airfield. Currently, Diu Airport features two runways measuring 5922 ft & 3555 in length, with an orientation of 05/23 and 13/11. It is connected by flights from Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and other parts of the country. Jet Airways, Air India and Jet Konnect are the main airlines operating at Diu Airport.
