Porto airport is an international airport near Porto; is situated 11 km Northwest of Clerigos tower in the Centre of Porto. It is run by Aeroportos de Portugal. This is the second busiest airport in the country based on the passengers and the kind of services they give at the airport. The airport is accessible through public transportation making it easy for locals and tourists to reach. The airport is very easy to get to and very comfortable to get in and out of. The airport also offers different kind of services to the passengers, who pass at the airport to their destinations worldwide.


The airport was named after a former Portuguese Prime Minister, Francisco de Sá Carneiro who was killed in an airplane crash while he was heading to the airport. It was formerly known as Pedras Rubras Airport.

Alongside the airplane terminals in Lisbon, Horta, Faro, Flores, Santa Maria, Ponta Delgada and Beja, the air terminal's concessions to give backing to common avionics was yielded to ANA Aeroportos de Portugal on 18 December 1998, under procurements of pronouncement 404/98. Porto is placed first overall in Europe for service and also it is placed fourth among airports worldwide that have less than 5 million passengers. This is by far a great achievement by the airport.  The airport has been renovated and transformed mainly because they host Euro football games making the airport even more common to visitors. Porto deserves other awards because it is situated at a place where there is a lot of public transport and this gives passengers easy time to go to their hotels after they leave the airport.
