Verona Villafranca Airport which is also known as Verona Airport, Valerio Catullo Airport or simply Villafranca Airport, is among the major airports in Italy, serving Verona. Operated by GardaAeroporti, it is ajoint civil and military airport, located at an elevation of 73 meters above sea level. The airport is a focus city for Meridiana and Neos and at present it has 1 bituminous runway measuring 3,068 meters and a concrete helipad measuring 110 × 85 in length. Situated at the junction of motorways A4 and A22, around 5 km from the city center, Verona Villafranca Airport has two terminals – T1 serves departing passengers and T2 is for arriving passengers. Both the terminals have a dedicated play area. The airport is equipped with a fog-dispersal device and the runway is certified for ILS Category IIIb approach. The airport managed 2.775.627 passenger and 30.092 aircraft movements in the year 2104.


The airport has been operating as a military airfield since First World War. Civil charter flight services began in early 1910. The airport got it first official terminal at the end of 1970's and in the year 1978, the Aeroporto Valerio Catullo di Verona Villafranca Spa started operating the airport. First round of expansion began at the airport in 1990 and the existing terminal was expanded. The airport recorded 1 million passengers in 1995 and by 1999; it reached at the third position among the 'Special Classification of Charter Traffic' after Milan Malpensa Airport and Rome Fiumicino Airport. To accommodate growing traffic, another terminal was opened in May 2006.


The airport is currently directly connected to 12 countries. Aer Lingus, Air Dolomiti, Air France, Air Moldova, Alitalia, British Airways, easyJet, Iberia Express, Lufthansa, Meridiana, Ryanair, Volotea and Wizz Air are the airline companies that operate direct passenger flights to and from the Verona Villafranca Airport. Seasonal charter as well as seasonal passengers flights are operated by Yakutia Airlines, Vueling, Tunisair, Transavia, Thomson Airways, Thomas Cook Airlines, Nouvelair, Neos, Mistral Air, Globus,Israir Airlines, Germanwings, Flybe, Eastern Airways, Blue Panorama Airlines and Aegean Airlines.
