Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport has a total of nine terminals which can prove to be a little overwhelming for the traveller. But good connectivity makes navigating the airport a cinch.
Over a hundred different airlines fly to Paris Charles de Gaulle. They include British Airways, United Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Qantas Airways, Singapore Airlines and Finnair.
To travel between terminals, hop onto the Charles de Gaulle Véhicule Automatique Léger (CDGVAL), a free automatic shuttle rail service, or use the free airport shuttle service. All terminals are connected, and each terminal is well-equipped with stores, cafes, facilities and services. Getting to and from the airport is easy with readily available transport services by train, bus, taxis and even certain shuttles that link most terminals to some hotels and even to Disneyland.
Some bus services are in operation 24 hours a day, connecting the airport to the city centre. The Réseau Express Régional (RER for "Regional Express Network") is the fastest way to arrive in the city.
Getting to and from the airport by public transport is convenient and accessible with the rail network. Each terminal is served by a Main Line train. Regional lines bring passengers to the centre of Paris and surrounding areas, where the station Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 1 serves Terminals 1 and 3 while Aeroport Charles de Gaulle serves Terminal 2. Buses and coaches also aid you in travelling from the airport to different parts of Paris. Take note of the various types of taxis awaiting you at the terminals as Paris taxis send you around Paris and 3 bordering departments while Suburban taxis send you around and beyond these areas. You can spot the different taxis by the light shining at the top of the vehicles.
