There are five airports in Nigeria, located in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt and Enugu. The Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos is the major hub where most of the African airways and international carriers operate. However, none of them offer direct flights to the USA. Otherwise, Virgin Nigeria is one of the best airlines here with great regional connectivity. It also operates flights to the UK.

Transport by boat is not a widespread option. Although ferry services are available from Calabar to Limbe every Tuesday and Friday evening, it is an overnight trip, which can be uncomfortable for travelers.
