Tampa – Vacation in the Heart of Florida

The county seat of Hillsborough County in Florida, Tampa is a major tourist destination renowned for its parks, beaches, museums and architectural splendors. Spanning on the West Coast of Florida, the city is part of Tampa Bay Metropolitan Area, which is home to 2.9 million residents. This is the 2nd largest metropolitan statistical area in Florida and 4th largest in the Southeastern United States. Tampa International Airport and St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport are the two major international airports serving Tamps and all flights coming to the city land at either of the airport. Sarasota–Bradenton International Airport is also an important airport which is connected mainly to Delta's Atlanta hub along with several other large U.S. cities. Though the city is located on southern fringe of the humid subtropical climate, Tampa has a tropical climate, featuring hot summer with frequent thunderstorms and cold winter. Summer last from May till August and July is the hottest as well as the wettest month of the year. This time of the year is holiday for school children; hence the amusement parks and town is crowded. The months from September till December is shoulder tourist season and prices of hotels are much lower. It is a decent time for outdoor activities. The peak tourist season in Tampa begin from January and last till April and the price of hotel is at its highest.
