This Anjuna-based retreat promises a romantic getaway with a twist with secluded luxury tents, boutique suites and eco-lodges to choose from. It’s also a great place to practice your yoga asanas or take an Ayurvedic massage training course. The owners have created an eclectic space using local, sustainable materials like bamboo, mud, clay and stone. The retreat space has seven tents and two suites all constructed and furnished using reclaimed wood, natural coconut coir flooring, organic bamboo fibre and khadi silks. Biowaste is composted and reintroduced into the vegetable gardens. Vegetables, fruits and spices are grown organically using ancient Vedic principles. 3. Swaswara

This upmarket eco-resort is located in Gokarna, Karnataka close to Om beach but the nearest airport is Goa’s Dabolim airport. Accommodation consists of 24 relaxing Konkan villas, a swimming pool, a meditation dome and you can book pranayama classes here too. The resort is built on a strong philosophy of ayurveda and yoga, combining ecological restoration and preservation with art and spirituality. Food is ripened naturally on fertile soil and sourced from within a 60 kilometre radius of the resort or from Swaswara’s own land. The resort captures 237 lakh litres of rainwater and reuses every drop. The solid waste management system converts waste food into cooking gas and plastic water bottles are replaced with recyclable glass. The entire resort is immersed in a blanket of green cover that encourages spiritual healing and restoration. You can take an activity getaway, pottery classes from a master ceramacist or a tutorial in healthy cooking. Prices are approximately INR 1.15 lakh for a five-night stay.

4. Ashiyana Yoga and Spa village

The owners of Saraya’s eco-stay hostel in Sangolda have a vision to bring together art, culture, food and eco-living. Stay in one of their eco-lodges and enjoy the yoga classes and music performances that this hotel hosts from time to time in their art gallery and cafe. It also features its own organic farm, tree houses and organised events. Earth rooms have trees shooting up through the middle of the rooms. This eco-friendly, reclusive accommodation is all about the chilled-out romantic getaway for some one-on-one time with your partner. Solo travellers will also love it here. The accommodation is in tipis (teepees) creating an added layer of cosiness and romance.
