1. Singapore
Long-time favourite, Singapore, recorded a whopping 202% average increase in searches since 2013. The Lion City draws the attention of travellers from across India thanks to relaxed visa regulations, diverse culture and multitude of tourist attractions. Skyscanner foresees continued growth in 2017 with its easy flight connections and multiple-airlines flying to Singapore.

2. Australia
Already proving popular with Indian travellers for New Year getaways, Australia has emerged as a growing destination throughout the year with an average 67% leap in searches since 2013. Even though Australia is neither light on travel time or the pocket, there is growing inclination to visit. With great beaches, extraordinary wildlife, diverse cuisine and an abundance of adventure sports, what’s not to love?
3. Malaysia
Malaysia has something for all tastes and with searches from India increasing 46% over the last three years, this is a destination you’ll be seeing more of on your Instagram feed in 2017. Whether you’re looking for a city-break to Kuala Lumpur, hill retreat in the Cameron Highlands or wanting to relax on a beach in Langkawi, Malaysia has it covered.
4. Maldives
Traditionally popular with celebs and honeymooners Maldives is attracting a wider audience with a 22% jump in searches over the last three years. Only a two hour flight (from some cities) Maldives is perfect for a short getaway.

5. South Africa
South Africa’s 11% rise reiterates the Indian travellers adventurous streak. The ideal location for road trips, exploring vineyards (though not both at the same time!) and getting up close and personal with nature, we predict South Africa’s popularity will only continue to grow in 2017.
