Regret my choice
The walls are thin and the floor is very noisy.
We couldn't sleep because of all these moments.
The breakfast was very poor.
The owner was not very helpful. Starting with route maps and finishing with extra towel (as the original was dirty).
Very bad choice. Will never stay there again.

Nice place
The caveat to this is you should call the day before to arrange this and also expect a german-speaker who is not great with his English. I was staying at the hostel in the castle in Bacharach and called the morning of to get a shuttle. I thougth I had arranged it with him but he never showed. Then we hitchiked to the hotel and he wasn't there. So we called and had to wait for him to arrive (he lives in a town a few minutes away). Then he couldn't give us a ride back to the train station right then because he was on a motorcycle.
I do not blame him and chalk all this up to lack of communication and miscommunication. So just be clear on when you're arriving and when you'll need a shuttle.
After this incident he was so accommodating and even picked us up at the train station (after a long day of wine tasting) even though our train was late and after the time he stops shuttling people (which I think is 8 p.m.)
Overall, the room was big and clean and the bed comfortable. Wifi was solid. Breakfast included (I didn't find this out until we were headed out the door) but is limited to bread and meat and some fruit.
So be extra communicative ahead of time with the owner and I think you'll enjoy this affordable accommodation.
