Hotel Capitol is located close to the University of Bucharest and Cismigiu Gardens in a lively and central area of the city, and features an on-site restaurant. The property was built in 1901 and kept the original décor after various renovations.

We loved the beautiful building that housed the capitol. Our room was small but that would have been ok except for a few things. The carpet seemed like an extension of the hallway carpet. It would have been better not to have any carpet at all and then I could at least see that it was clean. The shower could have scrubbed a little bit more. The a/c was working really well. We loved the breakfast room and the bar room. The staff were welcoming and efficient. I would stay again if I could afford to upgrade my room. All and all it was a great value.

Convenient

Hotel convenient to the center with parking available.
Room not very big but comfortable
The breakfast buffet was excellent.

Had a good stay at capitol hotel, the ac at the room was valuable when it was day temperature of 37 degree celsius. Breakfast was ok, at bit small breakfast area. Location was ok not so far to pick up for one day tourist bus trips to Bran and Bulgaria.

A good hotel in a good and central location.

We arrived at the hotel for a vacation. At the entrance, we were greeted by the receptionist who treated us courteously and quickly. The room we were given was average, clean and tidy. There was a problem with the hot and cold water streams in the shower, which alternated while bathing, and we had to be prepared not to get burned or have freezing water. (Floor 4) After our request to change rooms, we were given another room on the 2nd floor, and the situation was better. The hotel is very central and all the attractive places can be reached on foot. The dining room is fine with a good selection of dishes so that everyone can find something that suits them. The staff is very kind and quickly and efficiently handles all requests. On weekends, the adjacent street turns into a medina where cafes put out chairs and tables in the middle of the street. And you can sit and stroll leisurely. The noise from the street is a bit disturbing in the room.
