Climate: Moscow has a humid continental climate. It has long, cold winters from mid-November through end March and warm summers the rest of the year. In the winter, the temperatures can go as low as −25 °C and in the summer they can range from 15 to 30 °C. The snow lasts for 5 months from October to April.
Food: Moscow’s cuisine is special, so don’t miss out on the chance to feast on some local goodies. It features a lot of dishes made from dough like pies, rolls, cakes, blini, noodles etc. Blini is a Russian pancake serve with jam or cream. They can also be filled with cheese or meat. Try the pelmeni, which is a meat or fish dumpling or the varenniki which are stuffed with cheese or potatoes. Soups and salads are also popular here. Try out some local restaurants which offer Ukrainian food or street food for traditional fare. End the day with caviar, mushrooms or salmon which are very popular here.
Culture: Moscow is a cosmopolitan city brimming with art and culture and has over 93 theaters, 132 cinemas and 24 concert halls. You should visit the State Historical Museum of Russia to understand its ancient history and to marvel at precious artworks. To view the works of greats like Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne and Pablo Picasso under one roof, visit the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. The city also has two large circuses- the Moscow State Circus and the Moscow Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard. Movies are also important to Muscovites and you should catch one to understand more about their culture. It is known to be one of the most expensive cities in the world.
History and Architecture: Moscow was ruled by The Ivan 1 whose successors freed it from the Tatar rule. Later, it became an important center of power in the region. The city is famous for its beautiful buildings, both old and new age. Notable among them are the St. Basil's Cathedral and Spasskaya Clocktower at the Red Square, the Radisson Royal Hotel, Bolshoi Theatre, Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Poklonnaya Hill, Monorail, Kolomenskoye and the Moscow International Business Center. The Moscow Kremlin and the Red Square are also one of the several World Heritage sites in the city.
Shopping: The Moscow city center and Rublevka offer a number of luxury establishments. The Tverskaya Street in Moscow is the best place to go shopping. If you want to visit high end stores such as Bulgari, Tiffany, Armani, Prada and Bentley etc, head to the adjoining Tretyakovsky Proyezd, which is south of Tverskaya Street in Kitai-gorod.

Getting to and fro from the airport
Traveling is easy in Moscow as it has an extensive transit network, with nine railway terminals, many trams, a monorail and the Moscow metro. To get from the airports to the center of Moscow, you can take the Aeroexpress train, which is the fastest and easiest way to get to the city. Slow buses and faster minivans (fixed price shared taxis, known as marshrutkas) connect the airport with the metro network. Official airport taxis are also available from taxi counters in arrivals.
