Situated approximately 16km south of the city centre, Kuwait International Airport serves as its main gateway, connecting the city around the world. Having undergone extensive developments and upgrades since its initial inauguration, Kuwait International Airport now has the ability to handle large-scale passenger capacities as well as air traffic. Airlines such as Kuwait Airways as well as Jazeera Airways have set up their bases at the airport, alongside the local Kuwait Air Force and its museum. Other prominent carriers that have included Kuwait International Airport as part of their flight routes include Air India, British Airways, Emirates and Lufthansa. Although there have been plans to install a new terminal, Kuwait International Airport currently runs most of its commercial operations from one main passenger terminal. Within the terminal, passengers will also be able to find a variety of dining options from fast food chains to dine-in restaurants, duty free shopping, currency exchange and banking services, medical attention services, travel agencies, baggage services, lost and found services, a transit hotel, and last but not least, complimentary WiFi access throughout the airport grounds. For those on longer transits at the airport in search of more entertainment sources, do check out the airport mall situated adjacent from the main terminal as well.
If you are flying into Kuwait or intend to do so, do take note of its strict visa policies and the ban on bringing alcohol into the city.
