São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport and Congonhas-São Paulo Airport are the two major airports and all flights coming to Sao Paulo land at either of the airport. São José dos Campos Airport and Viracopos-Campinas International Airport serve the region of Greater São Paulo and light aircrafts are served by the Campo de Marte Airport. The city is influenced by humid subtropical climate which features warm and sunny weather for most part of the year. During the winter months from December till February the city receives heavy rainfall, therefore it is best avoided. The city can be visited all around the year but the peak tourist season begins from June till Mid December. March to May is the shoulder season. Sao Paulo is extremely popular for hosting multiple festivals and event all the year round but some of the major festivals that draw huge international crowd to the city are - carnival of Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo Art Biennial (held once every two years), Electronic Language International Festival, Achiropita Festival, Sao Paulo Fashion Week, March for Jesus, F1 Brazilian Grand Prix and world’s largest gay pride parade.
City Attractions
While Sao Paulo is a major cultural and economic center in South America, it is only among the most popular tourist destinations in Brazil. Start your city tour from the Historic Center which is the old part of the city and is filled with numerous historical sites and monuments.
