Seoul, which is officially called as Seoul Special City is one of the most happening tourist destination in the world. Overview

Gimpo International Airport and Incheon International Airport on Yeongjong Island are the two major international airports serving Seoul and are among the busiest airports in the world. The city experiences humid continental/subtropical transitional climate with hot and dry summers and cold to freezing winter. While the highest temperature in summer can reach 22.4 to 29.6 °C, during winter the temperature can dip as low as −10.0 °C. On an average the city receives 28 days of rainfall in a year. The months from March to May and from September are the months to visit the city as during these months, the weather is mild and comfortable. ABU TV and Radio Song Festivals in October, Hi! Seoul Festival held 4 times in a year, Seoul Citizens' Day on October and Ultra Music Festival Korea in 2nd week of June are the major festivals celebrated in Seoul.

City Attractions

Seoul is one of the very countries to have 5 UNESCO world heritage sites in a single city - Changdeok Palace, Hwaseong Fortress, Jongmyo Shrine, Namhansanseong and the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty.  The city received over 12 million tourists in the year 2013, making it it the world's 10th most visited city and 6th largest earner in tourism. Some of the major landmark buildings you cannot miss in Seoul are - N Seoul Tower, the gold-clad 63 Building and the neofuturistic Dongdaemun Design Plaza. The world’s second largest indoor theme park –Lotte World and the world's longest bridge fountain - Moonlight Rainbow Fountain are among he major sightseeing places in Seoul.   

Sevit Floating Islands is a popular attraction and these are manmade islands in the Han River and are known for its on-land multimedia art gallery. Gyeongbokgung Palace (beautiful heritage palace), The National Palace Museum of Korea, Cheongwadae (official residence of the President of the Republic of Korea), Bukchon Hanok Village (largest cluster of privately owned traditional Korean wooden homes), Hongdae (Seoul's nightlife hub), Namiseom Island and Everland (largest theme park in Korea) are among the major places of tourist interest in Korea. Seoraksan, the highest mountain in the Taebaek mountain range is also a major tourist spot in Seoul.
