Discover Copenhagen

Copenhagen Airport is the primary international airport serving the capital city of Denmark. It is called Kobenhavns Lufthavn in Danish, and is the largest airport among the Nordic countries. Additionally, the airport is one of the oldest international civil aviation hubs in the region. Multiple airlines connect Copenhagen Airport with numerous cities across the globe, including British Airways, Delta, Emirates, KLM, Lufthansa, Qatar, Singapore Airlines, and plenty more.

Getting Around

Situated on the island of Amager, the airport is only 8 kilometres southeast of the city centre. There are several ways to get to downtown Copenhagen, such as by train, metro, bus, taxi, or car rental. Board the train from the station below Terminal 3 of Copenhagen Airport to reach the heart of the city. The airport is also connected to the city centre by metro, via Line M2. Otherwise, hop on a bus that takes passengers to downtown Copenhagen. Taxi services are a speedy alternative, albeit at a comparatively higher price. Otherwise, rent a car and drive down to the city centre yourself.

In Copenhagen, the best way to travel is the way locals do – on a bicycle. Experience the city firsthand and join the two-wheeled masses. Bikes are a fast and comparatively inexpensive way to navigate the city, as compared to renting a car or hiring a taxi. If you prefer taking public transport, head to the metro and board the S-train to your destinations. Bus networks are also well-developed, providing visitors with an efficient way to get around. Special bus services like the CitySightseeing buses offer transport to the city’s main landmarks, useful for tourists looking to cover all attractions. Alternatively, take a canal tour of the inner harbour and canals to see the city from the waters.

Get a good view of the city from the Round Tower, an astronomy observatory that doubles as a great vantage point. A short distance away from the Stroget is the Tivoli Gardens. The gardens is one of Europe’s most visited theme parks, since its opening in 1843. Take a leisurely stroll through the gardens, have a meal at the restaurants, and explore the theatres and dance halls.
