The cave complex of Tora Bora, around 50 km from Khyber Pass is also a known attraction.

The Afghani cuisine is largely based upon the nation's chief crops such as wheat, maize, barley and rice. Some of the most commonly consumed food items are fruits like pomegranates, grapes and melon, vegetables and dairy products like milk, yoghurt and whey. Kabuli pulao, which is the national dish of Afghanistan is a delectable food item tourists should not miss savouring. In Afghanistan, food is generally served on a ‘dastwarkhan’, which is a large tablecloth that is spread over a traditional rug. A typical dwastarkhan will include breads, accompaniments, relishes, appetizers, main courses, salads, rice and fruits. Kebabs, pasta, Qorma, pilau and breads are commonly consumed. Serving tea and white sugared almonds is a familiar custom during Afghan festivals. The options of restaurants in Afghanistan are comparatively less as Afghans prefer eating at home. Most of the restaurants serve multi-cuisine options.
