A small town on the on the island of Kefalonia Ionian Islands in Greece, Argostoli, is one of the popular tourist destination. The city has served as the administrative center as well as the capital Kefalonia since 1757. At an elevation between 0 to 10 meters above sea level, it is among the most popular and busiest ports in Greece. Around 10,633 people live in the municipal area of Argostoli making it the most populous city in the region after Razata, Dilináta and Kompothekráta. Greek is the official language spoken by most of the people.

While the city is a growing tourist hub, but it is still far from having fancy dining places or luxurious restaurants. The local cuisine revolves around meat and sea food and some of the local delicacies you should not miss here are Sofigadoura, Kreatopita, Boutridia, Frigania, Zante currant, Fritoura, Tsouknidopita, Omeletta, Savoro and Riganada. Beware if you are dieting, because Greek food is so delicious that gluttony is a sinless indulgence here. The wine is Argostoli is also very popular.
