Superb, spotlessly clean hotel in Lofer

We were here for a wedding in Lofer - and what a great find this place is! Superb location, spotlessly clean and very helpful staff - and the breakfast, whilst fairly limited, is very good.
As a bonus, it features in film history with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood filming scenes from "Where Eagles Dare" outside the hotel in 1968.
Would be good if they could provide a USB plug of some kind in the rooms (if there was one, we missed it), but thats the only thing we'd suggest to improve it.
We'll certainly recommend to friends and family, and hope to visit again some time.

A lunch in the restaurant

We stopped here to eat lunch outdoors. I had a spicy Diabolo pizza that was very good. Service was good.
The surrounds are nice and when we were here it was a Volkfest so a lot of people, traditional music and clothes in the center.

Good value B&B in a cute and quiet village

Our stay got off to an odd start, as the B&B was locked, even though we'd said exactly what time we would be arriving. Thankfully, a passer-by told us to ask at the haberdashery across the street and someone let us in. It would have been nice to have been warned about this in advance!
Lofer itself is a really cute little village, and its only two minutes walk to the cable car if you're a skiing fan.
There's a lovely Italian restaurant downstairs which I'd definitely recommend, as the food and service was excellent. There is a noise from the restaurant until about 10pm, but after that the B&B is very quiet.
Our room was old-fashioned in style, but clean and tidy. I found the bed to be VERY hard though, and had to borrow a duvet to lay on. Also, there is a headboard at both ends, so it wouldn't be great for anyone who is over 6 foot tall.
There's no hairdryer, but there is WiFi in the rooms and a small TV with mainly German-speaking channels (as you'd expect).
Breakfast was continental style (ie. cereals, bread, pastries, cheese, ham etc) and pleasant, and all the staff were lovely and friendly.

Great B&B in Lofer!

We only stayed for one night on a business trip and we were looking for a reasonable B&B in the center of Lofer. This is the place to be! The double room was 86€ including a wonderful breakfast with a great variety of fresh bread, cheese, sausage and vegetables and also different Mueslis.
The rooms are nice too and we had one with a little balcony facing the garden.

Evening meals ... wonderful atmosphere great food

We love this restaurant. firstly it is a building that was the setting for one of the scenes from Where Eagles Dare - the inn that Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton enter before their cable car experience!! it is beautiful inside, recently refurbished restaurant to the highest standard. incredible attentive staff, the food on offer is classic and has a daily specials to suit all appetites. My son loves their pizza and my husband their risottos with beef ... they have guinea fowl, lamb lollipops and a range of vegetarian food too ... my favourite being the chanterelle risotto. the deserts are exquisite - the chocolate fondant a particular favourite. the service is charming, the wine menu discerning and the location just gorgeous in the centre of a beautiful village square. In the winter it is a snug place to eat and in the Summer you can sit outside under their large striped umbrellas relaxing and enjoying the mountains ambiance. A definite visit for all ages.
