Quiet Location with Great View

This B&B has pros and cons. On the pros side - very clean, close to town and ferry, quiet at night, spacious room, lovely ocean view from high up on hillside, lovely gardens, yummy cooked breakfast by very friendly Bob. On the cons side - no “normal” shower ( a hand held by bathtub such that you had to sit in tub and spray yourself because tub was under slanted ceiling), WiFi was so slow that we just used our own data, king mattress needs replacing as was very soft and a bit lumpy, I personally found decor very dated but that is probably quite subjective. And I should mention that we stayed in the Blue Suite so other rooms may be different. You have to weigh out what is important to you. Personally I would stay again for one night but not for a week.

Lovely couple; nice breakfast

Bob and Maria welcome you right into their home. (Bob was for many years a chef at local high end restaurants.) Our room was the smallest - a bit warm at first, but all windows opened for cross breeze, and the location is wonderfully quiet. Slept well. Breakfast was huge and homemade. Another plus is Maria's incredible homemade quilts that decorate many of the walls. She is very talented! Only downside was that wifi was not working & had been out for several days.

Perfect location, great view, unbelievable food

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in the Patio Suite. We had our own living room, private patio and large bathroom. Although shower pretty small. We loved this B&B and I am not sure but this could be the best breakfasts we ever had. Bob is a master chef and the food he serves is outstanding. Our room looked out over the Annapolis Basin and you could see the scallop boats returning every afternoon. Located 5 minutes from Digby and 3 minutes from the Digby Ferry. The location is great, the house is lovely, clean and the food awesome at a great price. What more could you want? We wish we could have stayed longer!

Quiet, with a spectacular view of the ocean

My wife and I stayed in the Blue Room for one night during our self-guided tour of Nova Scotia, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The chef prepared an amazing breakfast after a quiet night in a wonderful king-sized bed, with lots of room. The host was there to meet our every need. When we arrived, he was there to greet us. For the feedback that there was no signage to direct visitors, we couldn't understand it, because the sign was right there in front of us, up only three steps to the porch. When we went out on the deck, he instantly appeared with cushions for us. The gardens were well kept - enough that we took pictures. His directions to restaurants in the town were excellent, and we had a great dinner.
We highly recommend this B&B.

Would not recommend this B&B

We were booked into this B&B for 1 night June 1, 2019. When we arrived I went to the tourist entrance range the bell twice and then knocked with no response. I went to the car & telephoned and was told to come back to the door. When I went In, the host said to sign in and give him my credit card. When I mentioned my partner had the card in the car and he used a cane, the host offered to go to the car with me, bring in our luggage and pick up the credit card. We registered and were shown our room with no details about a common area for conversation or TV with other guests or where breakfast was served. The next morning we were told breakfast was Eggs Benedict and as I do not eat eggs by choice, I stated to just leave the egg off and I would eat the rest but I got a dried English muffin with 1 thin slice of processed ham and nothing else on it. There were a few pieces of fruit, juice and coffee and that was breakfast for me. No offer of anything else was made. The room was clean but uncomfortable due to older over-stuffed furniture but we had to stay there for the evening as we did not want to wander into private quarters by mistake. The Tub/shower was a joke. It was a deep tub with a hand-held shower head at the top level of tub but no shower curtain. Impossible to sit in or stand in at all. Overall this was over-priced for the room and the breakfast and the hospitality was non-existent. At no time did we see the wife other than when he had problems processing the credit card machine and she came in to help and then left. I would never stay in this B&B again and would definitely not recommend it to anyone.

As longtime B&B Hosts, we understand the value of guest reviews, as they dually afford Hosts the opportunity to reflect on the special experience B&B services provide to Guest/Friends, and equally offers an impartial sounding board and forum for critique to our many, many Guest/Friends who stay.
We see reviews as a vital tool into providing the intimate exchange between private host and private guest. Remember, you have entered a Home not a corporate business, so room for improvement and service refinement can exist, as gracious host providers hone their skill sets for the travelling trade.
The B&B experience is an unique one as private homes open their doors to strangers. Convivial hosts hope to provide a familiar atmosphere for each guest that arrives, carefully presenting their homes and menus on well crafted web sites so "best fit" opportunities can happen and a restful, enjoyable stay can be had by all.
We want each guest friend to enter our homes prepared for US, happy, locally knowledgeable, attentive people who can enrich your stay as they enrich your holiday memories; we are on your team!
B&B Hosts work hard to be transparent in presenting this opportunity so all guests have the luxury of privately pre selecting the most appropriate Host, Home, & Menu of Escape for their time away. The joy and gift og B&B stays is that they allow Guest/ Friends the ability to try on new locations, new lifestyles and new relationships outside of their everyday experience. What a fantastic opportunity for exploration & growth far beyond the BIG BOX experience chain providers; it's totally personal and amazingly rewarding when chosen with intent and openness.
Equally, guests should understand that they are engaging in that most ancient and social of behaviors, meeting new friends.
As the new Hosts of Guest /Friends, we expect to be given the opportunity to quickly learn of your specific Likes/ Needs/ & Wishes, as clearly and simply as possible, as we will always accommodate when given an opportunity.
Remember, B&B hosts pride themselves in making their home your home, even though you may be thousands of miles from the familiar.
