Anastasia was very kindly during the check in and the day after, also. She illustred us every important tips to stay well in Retimnio, suggesting where to parking and a beautiful beach to visit. The room is fine and cleaned, every day will be stted up and also you'll find water and jam in your frigobar. Very nice staff and great position to visit the city

Charming experience

There’s a special charm about the narrow streets of a medieval town, with old houses looming over them and doors that lead you right into the kitchen or living area. It was our wish to experience that kind of living and it came true at Studio Lefaki, in Rethymnon Old Town.
We stayed in a studio on the ground floor, with access straight from the street. Possibly the only one of this kind they had. Medium sized and recently renovated, it is beautifully decorated in shabby chic style, featuring a canopy bed, floral printed folding screen, floor mirror and painted furniture. A very feminine room, with lovely details that excited the designer in me. It also features a kitchenette with roll up cabinet doors and a bathroom with a fairly large shower. And a vintage glass bottle with raki, courtesy of the house.
The room was cleaned and towels were changed every day. Given that both door and window were opening in the street, we mostly left the shutters almost closed and it was a bit difficult to air and cool the room naturally (the air being moist from the sea and the use of shower). The bathroom fan, connected to the bathroom lights, was not enough. However leaving the AC on for a couple of hours in the evening, while out for dinner, did the trick.
There is a cute, tiny backyard with tables and access to the other rooms and to an upper terrace. It closes with a gate, but we received a key; it’s where we had the morning coffee. Wi-fi worked best there, but in the evening there was a second network that worked just fine in our room.
The staff was friendly and helpful, particularly Mrs Anastasia who was all kindness and solicitude. She provided useful information and recommended us lots of places to visit or eat at. Speaking of which, Nyn & Aei is a family taverna she recommended and I subscribe to it, the food is great and Maria is a charming host. Everything you need is within walking distance: restaurants, shops, supermarkets, the harbor and a 16 km stretch of sandy beach. The central bus station is also 10 minutes away.
Staying in a house that literally opens in the street is an interesting experience, with an odd feel of privacy mixed with that of being part of what’s going on outside. People walk by inches from your window, I actually scared a couple (by accident) when I popped my head out. But so do scooters, motorbikes and sometimes cars, often in the middle of the night and not in the quietest manner. So if you need quiet to sleep, this particular room might not be the best choice. Though we didn’t complain, we were offered the possibility to change it, which we declined, as it wasn’t really a problem for us.
We greatly enjoyed our staying at Studio Lefaki and highly recommend it, especially for young, romantic couples.

Charming and special!!

We loved our stay at Studio Lefaki! The owner was extremely nice and helpful, she made sure we have everything we needed, and she let us choose the room (because there were 2 rooms free when we arrived). The rooms I saw were both amazing, one in blue and one in red tones. We took the red one: everything was decorated with love and great care for detail, there were rose petals and flowers, the whole atmosphere was magic and charming. There was even a bottle of the Greek "raki" to our disposal! Location was excellent, just in the centre of the old town, at walking distance from everything. The price was very good, and we were completely satisfied with everything - we recommend the place especially for romantic couples!! :)

Great location, nice apartments, and very friendly hosts. 100% recommended

100% recommended. My wife and I spent two wonderful weeks at Studio Lefaki and have already decided that we will come back. When we left, it already felt a little like home, not only because we really liked the apartment with the picturesque yard and terrace but especially because of the warm and extremely helpful hospitality of the hosts Eleni, Anargyros, Anastasia, and their staff.
Our room was large enough to host a large double bed, a sofa, a small table with chairs, a commode with a small TV, a wardrobe, and a complete kitchen, plus bathroom with shower. Everything was clean, nicely decorated and designed. The room got cleaned every day, including washing the dishes. Fresh fruit from the market, butter and jam were put into the kitchen every other day and at request. At our arrival, a bottle of raki was waiting for us on the site table. All in all, there was a lot of thought and effort in everything.
The house itself has two stories plus a roof terrace. On the ground floor, there is a cosy yard with a lemon tree, where we had breakfast every day. From the rooftop terrace (also with sofa and table) you can overlook the entire old town, the castle, and the sea.
The location is perfect: central but quiet. Cafes and restaurants, the old harbor, the beach, shops and castle, everything is in a walking distance of 10 minutes max.
Last but not least, we really liked or hosts, who were very friendly, warm-hearted, and extremely helpful. When my wife for a little sick they found us a doctor, and even offered to go to the hospital with us and get medicine from a pharmacy that was on duty that Sunday. They also gave us good recommendations where to go and what to see.
