Beautiful ambiance, great food, hospitality is excellent. Staff is very polite and courteous. Convenient location, easy to find parking. Beautiful terrace, homely atmosphere, spacious hall, easily accommodates a crowd over 200 plus

Disappointing Stay, Far Below Expectations
I recently stayed at Amar Tree Express Hotel (Lake Town, Kolkata) for one night in Room 303, booked as a Deluxe Room. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what was promised or expected.
ROOM & FACILITIES
The hotel has a decent exterior, but the interiors tell a different story — noticeably unclean and poorly maintained. The so-called 'Deluxe Room' was extremely cramped with barely enough space to move around. A kettle was provided, but the nearby 3-pin sockets were non-functional, making it completely useless. There was minimal storage space for luggage or personal belongings. The bathroom had very poor lighting — dim to the point where basic tasks like shaving were impossible.
⏰ CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
Check-in is stated as 12:00 PM, yet my room was allotted approximately 2.5 hours late with no proper explanation or apology. Ironically, when I requested a modest one-hour extension at check-out, it was flatly denied — with a warning that staying beyond 30 minutes past 11:00 AM would attract a full extra day's charge. This double standard was both frustrating and unreasonable.
HOUSEKEEPING
The bath towel provided was clearly used and had to be replaced only after I raised the concern. This is a basic hygiene standard that should never require a guest to follow up on.
️ BREAKFAST
My booking included breakfast, which was initially denied altogether. When I followed up, I was informed that due to low occupancy, a buffet would not be served. As a vegetarian, I was offered only two options — Poha and Idli Chutney — while non-vegetarian guests apparently had more choices available. To make matters worse, the food served appeared undercooked and was frankly unfit for consumption. I had to stop eating midway.
SURROUNDINGS
The only saving grace is the area around the hotel, which is pleasant and well-connected.
FINAL VERDICT
This stay was well below par in almost every measurable aspect — cleanliness, room quality, staff attitude, check-in efficiency, and food quality. I would strongly advise prospective guests to explore other options in the Lake Town area before booking here. The hotel needs significant improvement in its service standards, hygiene, and basic guest courtesy before it can justify calling any room a 'Deluxe' offering.
Overall, this stay was significantly below par and not a comfortable experience. I would not recommend this property based on my stay.

Overall experience was excellent
The food, arrangement and ambience of our ger together was excellent, all guests were very much impressed with all aspects of each part of arrangements, our guest were so impressed they like to have get here whenever they get opportunity..
