Breathtaking vacation

The Ujevara e Drinit Resort is a beautiful place to relax. The dreamlike location right by the river and the waterfall is simply unique and feels like therapy for body and soul.
The staff is exceptionally friendly, warm, and very accommodating. You feel welcome from the very first moment.
Those seeking peace, relaxation, and nature are exactly right here. I would love to come back again.

Visually nice, BUT

Have eaten at the resturant many times before the resort was finished, and due to the terrible food quality we stopped going. Decided to try it out again now that the resort seems finished, but the kitchen remains the same. Meats are overcooked and dry, the risotto with veal has soggy overcooked rice and could not tell if it was tomato sauce or ketchup in it. It is the same deal with the pastas with red sauce, the sauce tastes like ketchup. The only thing on the menu thats worth eating is the "Nacho Cheese bites" which is a shame since it has nothing to do with Kosovo's culture or cuisine.
As a guest I feel like an inconvenience for the staff, as if they get annoyed that they have to cut their smoke break (12ft from the table) short when I want to order.
TL;DR, worst food experience in Kosovo, poor service and a cigarette filled dining atmosphere.

Outdated and overpriced

Outdated and overpriced.
Dirty carpet, bath and windows.
As being said to the reception.
They didn’t care, neither did they give us other options.

Overrated

The room is spacious, but cleanliness could be improved. Staff at reception isn’t very friendly and hardly speaks English.
Not enough light in the bedroom nor bathroom.
Hairdryer in the room. No safe available. Coffee and tea making facilities available in the rooms. Be careful with the bottles of waters that are available in the room! In some rooms the bottles weren’t sealed and it had dirty water in them.
In the bathroom there’s a bad smell.
I had booked halfboard, but when I mentioned this at the reception and restaurant they told me this couldn’t be true and only breakfast was included. They refused to letting me have dinner at the restaurant, even though I had paid for dinner in advance.
Lunch outside on the terrace is nothing special. It’s not very clean and there are a lot of cigarettes burns in the table cloths.
The restaurant told me I could have breakfast 15 minutes before the restaurant opened. They also promised to make me a sandwich to take with me. None of the promises were kept by the restaurant.

Not up to EU standards

This was a disappointing choice. The staff have not mastered the art of hospitality; the only smiles i saw on staff was when they were talking to each other. It feels as though the guests are kind of in the way. Our room, a Suite, is in need of renovation: the paint needs refreshing in the room and the mattress needs to be replaced: it’s lumpy and has deep places where too many others before have slept & no matter how you position yourselves on the bed, you end up rolling into the dip & hanging onto the edge of the mattress. The jet tub and shower stall are deeply covered in black mould & mildew. The gold shag carpet has not been shampooed for a long time and on bare feet it feels like you are stepping onto a tabby cat that needs a bath. The dinner meals were okay but the breakfasts were not pleasant: even at the 8 am opening the “hot” items in the casseroles were cold and congealed, and in there was only nescafe instant coffees in the coffee dispenser. I had thought this resort would be a highlight of our Balkan trip but it was very disappointing. I see now that the high ratings are mostly from Oman and Saudi guests and perhaps their expectations are different from European/Western people. I recommend the staff is sent to the Swiss Diamond Hotel Prishtina for some training and an glimpse into how Kosovo hotels can function.
