Pretty courtyard

Difficult to find with Googlemaps. Has a beautiful central courtyard overflowing with plants, including trailing from the roof. A small traditional house with three bedrooms, each with ensuite. Small breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Very reasonably priced.

A wonderful oasis of tranquillity and beauty in the heart of the Medina

This Riad is a true gem hidden in the heart of the Medina. It's a traditional Riad with an open central courtyard filled with plants and trees, along with a roof terrace with beautiful views over the city to the Atlas mountains.
The Riad arranged our taxi from the airport where we were met by a man with a sign. The taxi took us as far as it could into the labyrinth of the Medina, where we were met by another man with a handcart who took us and our luggage through the winding streets to the Riad.
We had a very friendly welcome with traditional mint tea from the manager, Hasan, who was always very happy to give advice or directions. Our room was again very traditional and very comfortable.
For those worried about the mention of 'no heating' in other reviews, while Riads don't traditionally have heating, there are electric heaters available if you need them - you just have to ask!
Each morning, we had a hearty and delicious breakfast. And after a hectic day exploring Marrakech, we loved to come back and relax on the terrace or the many hang out areas inside. There's good wifi and even a place to watch DVDs if you want to.
All together, we felt honoured to stay in a beautiful, traditional, incredibly located and friendly Riad. If you are coming to Marrakech, do not even think about staying in some chain hotel - come and stay at this Riad for the authentic experience.

Beautiful riad!

Absolutely beautiful place with style and lovely plants. Good and kind service.
Only downside was no heating in the room, when we stayed there in December, even though we booked on airbnb for places with heating.

Fantastic Riad

It was my boyfriend's first time in Marrakech and my second. After staying at the Four Seasons resort last time, I can honestly say that Riad Maiya was better! So so reasonably priced (we're both students) and beautifully interior designed! The location gives you a real insight into everyday Moroccan life whilst still only being a lovely 10 minute walk from the main square and souks. Breakfast changed every day and was a selection of jams, Moroccan pastries/breads, hot drinks and orange juice. Just the right amount of food and absolutely delicious (especially the Moroccan pancakes). Our room was gorgeous and had everything we needed, including a hairdryer. The terrace was also particularly nice to sit on during sunset or in the morning to listen to the calls to prayer. You can even see the Atlas Mountains! David responded extremely quickly via email and Hasan was so ridiculously helpful, even getting up at 5am on our last day to take us to our taxi! If I'm ever in Marrakech again, I'll stay at Riad Maiya.

Great riad experience

Located in the rabbit warren of Marrakech medina we enjoyed our four-day stay (three at the start of our holiday and one at the end) in this riad. The riad's location is perfect, not quite in the tourist section but close to some of the more interesting sights. Our good-sized room on the second floor had a large, comfortable bed, fan, shower/WC table and cupboard. The ground floor courtyard was a perfect setting for our morning breakfast and rooftop terrace has great views of the city. The riad was an oasis on the 42 degree days. Our host, Hasan, was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. His suggestions for a driving itinerary were perfect and his map was invaluable. He provided us with a great introduction to Morocco which laid the foundation for a lovely two and a half-week holiday. If you are walking from Djemma el Fna for the first time make sure you have exact directions, otherwise be ready to pay someone to direct you there.
