Excellent
The hotel is beautiful with well maintained, huge immaculate gardens.
We had an unreal experience which I want to shout about.
Check in was simple, quick and staff were very friendly. Our room was ready for us to access (around midday)
The 2 bedroom apartment was spacious (with 2 bathrooms) and serviced daily. You have a safe, tv, microwave and 4 ringed hob with fridge freezer. Private outdoor area to hand washing (4 or 5 lines), an outdoor patio area and a roof sun terrace (accessed outside)
On site is a washing machine and dryer - 5 euro each - bring your own washing powder.
Pool towels supplied free which can be changed daily between 10 and 12 only.
Pools don’t open until 10am and there is no mad dash for sunbeds, there is plenty of room at any time around the pools.
No large floaties in any pools just child sized rings.
There are three pools, one by the restaurant, one for over 16’s and then one beside the mini club with another bar, darts, table football, pool, swings and pool slides. Oh also a small baby pool and splash area.
The entertainment team were so amazing at making you feel welcome. Lots to do daily for everyone, French bowls, water polo, aqua aerobics, bingo, family fun…. Its brilliant.
Please try their restaurant some evening. The food is the best around. The à la carte menu. You won’t be disappointed. Lamb shoulder is so soft and the steaks were huge with beautiful flavour.
All staff work hard to make this an excellent stay.
Beach is 15 minutes down hill, but taxi rank right outside.
Book it you won’t disappointed.

Amazing place!
Where do I start with this hotel, from the lovely smiley staff, the amazing maids who visited us everyday without fail or the hard working grounds keepers who keep the hotel looking green and colourful or the spacious roof terrace bungalows that we stayed in. All play a part in giving this hotel a 5 star.
The food at the snack bars we found to be really tasty and value for money. We had the burgers a couple times for a lunch and they tasted delicious and the alcohol/cocktails were also brilliant.
There are three pools within this hotel all for different age groups, the main pool opened on our last couple days and I can confidently say I was the first guest to test the pool. They have done a big refurbishment and the pool looks amazing.
The location of the hotel is also a massive factor, 5 minute taxi from the beach (€4:50) and a 5 minute walk to the YUMBO Centre, this is my family’s 3rd time coming here and mine and my Girlfriends first, I definitely think we will be back in the future.

Fantastic 11 night stay at the Sol Barbacan!
Fantastic stay at Sol Barbacan, 11 nights half board in a 2 bed bungalow.
We could not fault this hotel, from arrival to departure it was a wonderful experience.
ALL the staff were extremely helpful, hard working and always smiling which shows that the management team are looking after their staff and providing a happy environment to work in.
The holiday can be as hectic or quiet as you like, with plenty of poolside and evening entertainment, (the entertainment tribe were brilliant) or you can just relax in your bungalow on the patio or sun terrace.
Excellent selection of food for breakfast and evening meal with tastes for all ages.
We have no negatives on the Sol Barbacan you really must try it, you won't be disappointed.
We enjoyed our holiday so much that we intend to return in May 2027.

Fab hotel
1st time here and the location was great not far from shops and restaurants, but far enough to not be in the centre of it all! The hotel was very clean and the rooms were spacious with all the essentials needed for self-catering, we didn't need to use them as we eat out but could have easily used the kitchen. The staff at the hotel work very hard and extremely friendly, the entertainment team kept the adults and children entertained. We liked the fact no saving of sun beds as the pools dont open until 10am so this gave us a chance to have breakfast and walk down (no sun bed wars here) there were plenty of them also. The ability to change beach towels everyday so we had clean towels and didn't need to use our own. The rooms provided shower gels, shampoo and hairdryer. I would recommend this hotel to families.

We recently returned from a fantastic stay at Sol Barbacan, and we cannot recommend it enough for families!
* The Accommodation: Our bungalow was incredibly spacious, giving us plenty of room to stretch out and relax.
* Cleanliness & Service: The entire resort was absolutely spotless. You can tell the team takes great pride in maintaining the property. Every single staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile.
* The Highlight — The Animation Team: A massive shoutout to Carlos, Max, and the rest of the animation team! They were absolutely fantastic. They got our kids settled in straight away, making them feel so special and creating lifelong memories for them. They truly made our holiday.
Loads of options for food and drink local.
> One small suggestion for improvement: It would be great to see more draught beer options at the pool bar. Currently, Heineken is the only draught beer available, and having a bit more variety to choose from while relaxing by the pool would make the experience perfect!
