Located a few minutes' walk from the historic city centre of Merida, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hotel Zeus is a modern complex with a seasonal outdoor pool.

Heritage, cleanliness and convenience
The hotel is greatly located, just a short walk from the Roman Bridge, the Alcazaba, Plaza de España, and both the Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre. From my room on the second floor, I even had a direct view of the Casa del Mitreo archaeological site across the street, a rare and memorable sight to have from a hotel window.
The property itself is spotlessly clean. The moment you step inside, the polished marble floors and walls stand out, along with statues that reflect Mérida’s Roman heritage. Breakfast was fairly simple, but it did not detract from the overall experience.
The only real inconvenience was the absence of a refrigerator in the room, which is challenging given Mérida’s very warm climate. I ended up buying cold drinks directly from the hotel, as keeping them chilled otherwise would have been difficult.

HOTEL LIVES UP TO ITS NAME
Hotel from the last century. If what you are looking for is to spend one night, when you are passing through to another destination it might be worth it, as was our case.
We got two rooms and in one of them there was a certain smell of tobacco. I had forgotten that feeling.
The rooms were average and the bathtub had curtains. When you turn on the shower, it sticks to your body.
The hotel is not adapted for people with disabilities. To get from the reception to the elevator, you have to go up some stairs and go down a few. The suitcases, of course, have to be carried up by hand.
There aren't many, but at this point... it's no longer appropriate.
Good location. If you are going to visit Merida, it is in front of the Casa del Mitreo and close enough to walk to the theater and amphitheater.
The best part, its pool. To access it, you have to leave the hotel and cross the small free hotel parking lot to get to it (next door, entering with the code they give you at the hotel). It is not excessively large, but we found it very pleasant. There is a large one and a smaller one for the little ones. In Merida and in July... it is appreciated.
At the front desk they let you have towels for the pool, leaving a deposit of 10 for each towel.
We did not use the restaurant services.

In Mérida, there are many better options.
I do not recommend it. Upon arriving yesterday, I was told that it is not possible to stay with my family in the reserved room after having had 4 phone conversations with them. The owner is a person who does not know how to treat customers.

Very old and not well maintained.
The hotel is very old. As soon as you arrive, you see the facade of the building and the very worn neon signs. The reception bathrooms are also not well maintained. But the worst are the rooms. Bathrooms with bathtubs from a long time ago, with worn curtains and a fixed shower on the wall that poorly regulates the water flow. The old furniture does not invite one to return.

Parking great! Spacious room for family. Location ideal for visiting monuments. Ten minute walks to get to all the activities.
