Great place but hard to get to
Square Peg or Loft in Kandy is a unique boutique stay with a modern industrial loft design and spectacular views over Kandy. The rooftop terrace is the highlight, especially at sunrise or in the evening, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful while still being close to the city. Food fruit plate, sweet stufging pancake, egg hopper, coconut drinks, coffee, milk rice with luni miris.
The biggest issue was finding the property. The directions were confusing, and GPS was not very helpful. We had to call for assistance, but the older gentleman who answered seemed grumpy and came across as more annoyed than helpful. Better signage or clearer directions would make the arrival much easier.
Steep flights for us to go to the bottom floor of our unit. Difficult with luggage. Rooms have fans abd AC is outside so rooms dont cool well.
Why many names for the same place?
Once we arrived, everything else was very good. If you're looking for a quiet place with amazing views and a different style of accommodation, Square Peg is a great choice. Just be prepared for a challenging first arrival.

Host refused refund for a broken bone
The host sends a PayPal link and demands payment within 24 hours, otherwise the booking isn't guaranteed. I had a medical emergency (broken bone) and provided official documents a week before check-in. The host refused any refund or compromise. He kept all the money even though I couldn't use the booking due to the broken bone.

Great Kandy stop over!
Great stay at Square Peg in Kandy for one night.
When we arrived, it almost looked like we were in the wrong place - on a very steep hill and very unassuming from the road. The team were quick to come to the gate however to let us in and take our bags down to the room.
The apartment itself was amazing - big glass front and a stylish industrial interior. Brilliantly clean. Only drawbacks were no safe, aircon was in the main area rather than the bedroom, and no WiFi (not a huge issue, but signal was super bad also so it was hard to plan!).
The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic - the team brought out multiple plates of fruit, rice, pancakes, egg hoppers, and a coconut water (in coconut)! Super tasty and more than we could eat. Absolutely brilliant for my vegetarian partner.
The aesthetic and view from the rooftop terrace was amazing. So many plants growing, with a great vibe, and view of Kandy.

Excellent value for money
Nice rooms, spacious and clean with a beautiful mezzanine and view.
Nice breakfast with offer that you do not see everywhere (egg hopper, rice coco, crepe, fresh coconut).
And Nice people.
Don’t hesitate, it’s a perfect stay.
On top, The big buddha is really close (15min by feet).

Great rooms, nice views, nicer people
We had a great 3 night stay here. The rooms are big and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was functional (which is a big one here!) and clean.
Breakfast was fresh and plenty.
The rooftop terras has an amazing view.
We got the breakfast and it was great.
The people who work here are incredible sweet and helpful.
