Golden sand, crystal clear water, sea food and water sports. These beaches in Da Nang have it all.
No Vietnamese adventure would be complete without days spent relaxing on the sand and in the sea. Da Nang is packed with beaches along its beautiful coastline. These are the best.
My Khe Beach
A SLICE OF HEAVEN
Strech your feet into the sand or paddle in the clear waters at one of the world’s six best beaches and one of the best beaches in Da Nang. Once referred to as China Beach by US soldiers, My Khe Beach is just 3km from the centre of Da Nang and is a breathtaking beachside paradise. Palm trees line the sand and the beach just seems to go on forever. It’s a slice of heaven.

You can get involved with a variety of sports on the sand or in the water too. Get sweaty with a little volleyball before heading into the waves for jet-skiing, windsurfing, water skiing or parasailing – you’ll find plenty of operators on the beach so you can book on the day.
A day here is all about lying on the white sand and appreciating the beach’s beauty. Swimming is allowed from 5am to 8pm everyday, and you can see the majestic Marble Mountains from the water.

The seafood is fantastic here, and there are many reasonable restaurants along the Vo Nguyen Giap coastal road. If you come here for sunrise, you’ll see the locals stretching and getting their exercise in before they start their days.
Non Nuoc Beach
SAMPLE THE SEAFOOD
Lying at the foot of the Marble Mountains, Non Nuoc Beach is a 5km stretch of natural beauty. The sand is pure white, the water a beautiful clear blue and the palm trees sway in the wind.
Non Nuoc is famous for its seafood, with specialities including shrimp, crab or fish noodle soup, and you’ll find a range of affordable restaurants just metres from the sand. All the water sports you’d expect are on offer here, but the reef snorkelling in particular is spectacular. Don’t miss a trip to the Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village for 400 years of history of marble stone carving – with smaller pieces crafted here too, you can pick up a souvenir of your travels.

Insider tip:
With Marble Mountains behind you and the sea stretching out in front, there’s nothing like sitting on a rock on Non Nuoc and simply taking in the beauty of the world. It’s a tranquil escape from the bustle of Da Nang.
Son Tra Peninsula
DON’T MISS THE MONKEYS
This is one of the most famous spots in Da Nang. Just 13km from the centre of Da Nang, on the Son Tra Peninsula you’ll find long stretches of sandy beach, unspoilt natural wonders and dense green forest.
There are plenty of beaches to choose on the peninsula, including the rocky and wild beauty of Da Den Beach, the natural scenery of But Beach, and the stunning coral reefs of South Beach. Tien Sa is also well worth a visit and still retains much of its wild charm.
Once you’re rested and refreshed from the beach, there’s so much more to enjoy in Son Tra. You can head up to the mountain villages for unrivalled views and a snapshot into traditional Vietnamese life. There’s the magnificent sight of Lady Buddha and of course the renowned Monkey Mountain where you can meet the famous Son Tra monkeys and experience the magnificent national park.

Insider tip:
If you want to go snorkelling or scuba diving during your time in Da Nang, with 191 species of coral Son Tra Peninsula is the place to do it.
Bac My An Beach
SAMPLE LOCAL FLAVOURS AT THE MARKET
This is one of the cleanest beaches in Vietnam and is around 7km from the centre of Da Nang. Just like many of the beaches around Da Nang, it has the whitest of sand, the clearest of water and beautiful views.
As well as whiling away your time on the beach, a day here wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Bac My An market. It’s a locals’ market and the place to sample some authentic Vietnamese food. Kem Bo – a mix of coconut ice cream, avocado cream and coconut flakes is refreshing after time on the beach. “Vietnamese Pizza” is a unique treat – rice paper grilled with toppings like Vietnamese sausage and egg. And the Spring Rolls are delicious.

Lang Co Beach, Nam O, Thanh Binh
INSTA-WORTHY ROCK FORMATIONS

Lang Co Beach is around 25km away from Da Nang and 60km from Hue. You can head here on a day trip from the city or make it a stop on your journey from Da Nang to Hue. Either way, it’s one to put on your itinerary. There’s 10km of beach, a fishing village to explore and a nearby lagoon.
Nam O is 17km from Da Nang and is a popular beach with locals. Expect the usual golden sand and beautiful water, but what makes it really stand out are the stunning rocks just off the shore – perfect for a unique Instagram snap. We love the local restaurants on stilts.
A little closer to the centre of Da Nang, Thanh Binh is a short 1km stretch of sand in the city and is perfect for a quick hop to the beach after time spent sightseeing. Stretch out on the sand, dip your toes in the water and take a load off.
