London Luton Airport is one of London’s major airports. It is one of six international airports in London, and the fourth largest airport after Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted. London Luton mainly serves visitors to London and the East of England, but also has scheduled routes to destinations outside England, such as to places in North Africa and Asia.
The airport consists of a runway with one terminal building. The main terminal building is split into ‘before security’ at the ground level, and ‘after security’ on the upper storey. The terminal is fully equipped with food, retail and entertainment options to keep travellers satisfied.
On the ground level, grab a bite from ubiquitous fast food joints like Burger King, and enjoy a hot cup of coffee at Starbucks. The Food Village offers a variety of stalls for travellers to choose from, and other popular eateries include Caffe Nero, Costa, The Great British Sausage Company, and many more. Browse for items at Marks & Spencer Simply Food. Shoppers can also look forward to WH Smith, The Yellow Line and The Rack. Similarly, the upper floor provides a large range of retail and food outlets for passengers passing through security.
The upper storey has a greater variety of shopping options, including big labels like Pandora, MAC Cosmetics, Victoria’s Secret, Sunglass Hut and many more. Explore the restaurants and bars there for a place to freshen up and unwind. Have some delicious glazed doughnuts at Krispy Kreme, visit The Real Food Company for organic food, or chill at Benugo with delectable salads, wraps, sandwiches and cakes. The coffee houses here also serve aromatic artisanal coffee.
To keep yourself occupied, head to the 24-hour Voyager Entertainment & Games centre for some gaming fun. Or simply relax in the executive lounge on the upper floor, run by Servisair, where travellers can unwind with complimentary snacks and refreshments, while surfing the web using the free wireless connection. Free WiFi services are also available to passengers throughout the airport. Simply connect to the WiFI and launch your web browser. Watch YouTube videos, update your social networking sites, and more in comfort, from your seat in the departure lounge. Do note that the free WiFi is only offered for a period of time. After using up the daily limit, users may have to pay to extend their Internet-surfing time.
Passengers travelling as a family, especially with infants or toddlers, will be relieved to find babycare rooms located around London Luton Airport. These rooms have changing tables, diaper dispensers and other important equipment to assist parents with their young babies.
The airport is also sensitive to travellers with special needs. London Luton Airport is designed to accommodate passengers with limited mobility. These travellers can enter the main terminal building through revolving doors, and get easier boarding access via Doors 2 and 5, which are designated for wheelchair customers and travellers with assistance dogs. Most telephones have touch screens and number keypads, and certain phones are lowered for easier access at each phone bay.
Start your holiday with a pleasant experience at London Luton Airport!
