March – May: Spring is T-shirt weather in Dallas, with highs approaching 30°C and occasional rain. This makes it the most comfortable season to walk the city’s sculpture trails or dine al fresco.
June – August: Peak summer heat can hit the high 30s°C, so head for air-conditioned spaces like the Angelika Film Center or the National Videogame Museum. Hurricane season can bring tropical storms through to November.
September – November: September stays hot and humid, but from October temperatures start to dip steadily. Layer up if you’re heading outdoors.
December – February: Pack warm clothes for winter temperatures, which can drop to around freezing in January. You’ll still be able to enjoy holiday activities in the parks if you’re bundled up.

State Fair of Texas (September to October): Cattle beauty parades meet live gigs and theme park thrills at this 140-year-old autumn tradition. The party lasts for 24 days — longer than any other state fair. Get ready to be greeted at the entrance by Big Tex, the fair’s famous 17-metre-tall cowboy.
