Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, or Leh Airport for short, is named after the revered Ladakhi statesman, Kushok Bakula Rinpoche. Presently, the airport only serves the domestic market, to airports in India including Indira Gandhi International, Jammu, and Sheikh ul Alam. Getting Around

From the airport, take a taxi directly to the city centre. Taxis can be easily found outside the airport, at most times of the day. Alternatively, head to the Leh railway station approximately 5.5 kilometres from the airport, and take the right train to your desired destination. Railways are generally considered to be the best form of transport as the service is usually regular, comprehensive and frequent.

Within town, a common mode of transport is by taxi. Taxi fares are typically Rs50 to 70 for short trips around the city.
