About the Country

The Jordan cuisine is a perfect blend of Middle Eastern cuisine and a traditional platter, which is known as ‘mezze’, will include koubbamaqliya, labaneh, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, olives and pickles. Jordan is the largest producer of olive in the world; hence olive oil is the main cooking oil. The food in Jordan can be mild to extremely hot and spicy and herbs, garlic, spices, onion, tomato and lemon are generously used. Some of the best delicacies can be savoured during the Ramzan months.  Mansaf, which is the national dish of Jordan, should not be missed. In Jordanian cuisine, drinking coffee and tea flavored with na'na or meramiyyeh is almost a ritual. All the cities have numerous restaurants and high end hotels serving local as well as international cuisine.

Jordan is popular for its weaving and handloom industry along with decorates sand bottles and enchanting bric-a-bracs that represent the Arabic culture.
