Cancun is pretty amazing with great cheap food and good malls. We like Puerto Morelos, about 20 miles south where everything is much cheaper and the people are great. From anywhere on the Yucatan you can travel to Mayan Ruins (Archeological Sites) within a few minutes to a few hours, Chichen Itzá is only about two hours away, and Campeche about four with many ruins between.

Love it... It has it all, adventure, history, beautiful beaches, fun activities for the whole family, lovely people and great food. Please visit Xcaret and do not skip the night show!

It was so much fun! It was my first time out the country! We toured Chichén Itzá further inland and took a catamaran to Isla Mujeres!

I went twice within a couple months. There is so much to do that you can experience something different each time. I like visiting for affordability especially if you’re willing to book outside of the resorts. Airbnb and take the bus everywhere for $1 and you’ll have plenty money to spare on a activity’s. The Mayan Ruins, Excaret, The Ferry to Isla, just so much. If you can snap a cheap flight you can surely spend under $500pp and have a great time.
