HYROX is a global indoor fitness race that combines running with functional workouts, welcoming everyone from everyday fitness enthusiasts to elite athletes.

Nearly half of HYROX India participants travel from another city to compete.

In Delhi, the share of out-of-town participants jumped from 28% in 2025 to 43% in 2026 – showing how fitness events are becoming more of a reason to travel.

Mumbai’s fitness community travels the most for HYROX India events.
“Our registration data shows that fitness is no longer something Indians pause when they travel – it’s becoming a reason to travel. Nearly half the athletes at our Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru events in the previous season crossed a city, sometimes a state, just to compete. Mumbai’s community alone sent over 700 athletes to race in other cities. That tells us that ‘gymcation’ isn’t a niche behaviour anymore, for a growing base of Indian travelers, a workout event is now a legitimate reason to book a trip, the same way a concert or a marathon is.”

“I booked with just a tap and it was a great way to get ahead of jet lag and start exploring the neighbourhood around me”
“Fitness is increasingly something travellers take with them on the road. From July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026, 15% of active ClassPass users booked a fitness class outside their home location, and this percentage has steadily increased across the past three July–June periods. Our users are building movement and recovery into their trips the same way they’d plan a great dinner reservation.
My best tip is to open the ClassPass app as soon as you land – you’d be amazed at how many great studios there are all around the world. Earlier this year I took the 19-hour direct flight from NYC to Singapore; I opened the ClassPass app right after checking into my hotel and saw a highly-rated megaformer class starting in just 45 minutes right across the street. I booked with just a tap, and it was a great way to get ahead of jet lag and start exploring the neighbourhood around me.”
