Austrian Airlines AG, which is a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, is Austria’s national flag carrier with its hub and headquarters at Vienna International Airport. Founded in the year 1957 via a merger of Austrian Airways and Air Austria, Austrian Airlines is a member of the Star Alliance. In 2009, the Lufthansa Group bought the airline. Austrian Airlines has codeshare agreements with 32 global airlines.

Austrian Airlines provides inflight entertainment only on its long-haul Boeing 777 flights. However, it provides e-journals to all its passengers.

How to Check-in

Passengers with Austrian Airlines can check in online, with mobile app, at the Vienna City Terminal (5a.m.-9p.m.), at the self-service kiosks and airport counters. Passengers can web check-in here using last name and booking code/e-ticket number. Web check-in opens 47 hours before (except for flights to Tirana / Skopje / Sarajevo / Pristina / Podgorica / Marrakech / Larnaca / Havana, when it opens 24 hours before). Baggage Allowances and Fees

Free checked baggage allowances for Austrian Airlines European routes are 32kg x2pc (Business Class), 23kg x 1pc (Economy Classic and Flex) and none for Economy Light. Free Intercontinental allowance is 32kg x2pc (Business Class), 23kg x 1pc (Economy Classic and Flex) and none for Economy Light. One can purchase checked baggage for Economy Light here. Seat reservation in Business Class is free. Economy (Flight/Classic/Flex) passengers can choose Window/Aisle/Centre/Extra legroom/First row seats for a fee.
