Eurowings Airlines

Eurowings, is Lufthansa’s low-cost carrier brand. Though the headquarters of Eurowings is in Dusseldorf, the airlines has bases in Berlin Tegel Airport, Dusseldorf Airport, Hamburg Airport, Cologne Bonn Airport, and Vienna International Airport. Eurowings was formed in 1993, when two commuter carriers, Nurnberger Flugdienst and Reise- und industrieflug merged. Eurowings currently flies to 76 destinations in 26 countires.


The Eurowings fleet consists of 42 Airbus A320-200s, 11 Airbus A319-100s, 6 Airbus A330-200 and 1 Boeing 737- 800.

Eurowings’ Domestic Destinations:

The domestic destinations Eurowings serves are Berlin, Cologne, Bonn, Dresden, Hamburg, Hanover, Heringsdorf, Karlsruhe-Baden, Leipzig, Nuremberg, Saarbrucken, Stuttgart and Weeze. Flights to Weeze will begin in July 2017.

Eurowings’ International Destinations: 

Eurowings currently has over 63 international destinations in over 25 countries. Eurowings will commence flights to 3 US cities, Las Vegas, Seattle, and Orlando, from July 2017, along with Cape Town, SA.

 Available Classes

Eurowings is a low-cost carrier with only economy class. Seats with extra legroom are available and are chargeable.


Travellers must carry their passport, ticket, and boarding pass.

Inflight Service

For short haul and medium haul flights, Eurowings suggests downloading the Wings entertainment app to your mobile, laptop or tablet and enjoy the whole range of movies, general entertainment, music and documentaries on offer. Travellers on long haul flights will be provided with in-seat screens. Eurowings offers internet on their A319/A320 fleet. Digital reads like newspapers and magazines are also on offer.


Eurowings offers non-alcoholic beverages, light snacks and delicious meals. Passengers can also choose meals at the time of booking or choose to pay after boarding the plane.

How to Check-in

All Eurowings Passengers are advised to check-in at the airport 2hrs prior to departure, counters close 40mins prior to departure. Check-in procedures at other Eurowings airports may vary, to know more please click here. Check-in online or through smart phone within 72hrs prior to departure. Passengers will be asked for the six-digit booking number or ‘etix’ (E-ticket) number. For security reasons, Eurowings requires all passengers to submit their personal information to foreign authorities through APIS (Advance Passenger Information System).

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Eurowings offers three types of tickets, Basic, Smart and Best. All Basic Passengers are allowed only 1 checked baggage of 23kg at 9-30 EUROs, carry-on luggage is not allowed. Smart Passengers are allowed 1 checked baggage of 23kg and additional baggage will be charged 75-150 EUROs. Smart Passengers are also allowed 1 carry-on luggage. Best Passengers can carry 2 pieces of Checked in Baggage not exceeding 23kg per piece and have a reserved spot for 2 pieces of Carry-on luggage.


Eurowings has three fare classes, Best, Smart and Basic. Passengers can choose seats at the time of check-in. All Airbus A320-200s have 174 seats, all Airbus A319-100s have 138 seats, the Airbus A330-200 has 310 seats, and Boeing 737- 800s come with 189 seats.

Booking Fees
