flydubai Flights

FlyDubai has established itself as a safe, convenient and affordable airline, and is one of the fastest growing carriers in the Middle East. It continues its expansion regionally and internationally, providing low-cost flights to over 65 destinations worldwide. Price competitiveness and accessibility have been the impetus behind FlyDubai’s success; its emphasis on cost-effectiveness has translated into significant cost savings for its passengers.

There are many reasons to choose FlyDubai, whether for short-haul flights to various parts of the Middle East or trips to destinations further away in Africa, Central Asia, Russia and Europe. FlyDubai debunks the myth that comfort always comes at a high price.

Why Fly with FlyDubai

How to Check In

There are three ways to check in at FlyDubai: online, via self-service kiosks, or airport check-in counters. Travellers looking to save time can opt to check in online, between 24 hours and 4 hours prior to departure. Instead of spending hours queuing and waiting in the airport, passengers can choose their seats and print their boarding passes online. Those who prefer the traditional method should make their way to the airport check-in counters, where efficient staff can assist you with your baggage. Business class passengers can enjoy priority check-in, access to the airport business lounge, and other benefits. Be sure to check in one hour before take off.

Baggage allowance and fees

Travelling light is rewarding, as up to 7kg of hand-carry luggage is non-chargeable. However, buying baggage allowance in advance is advised for those with baggage; excess baggage charges are hefty compared to pre-buying baggage allowance at a discount beforehand. One can be charged up to 55 AED per kg depending on your destination (as of 2014). When you book business class, more generous checked baggage allowance is provided. Do note that baggage restrictions are strictly enforced, and any amount of excess will be charged at airport rates accordingly.

Seating

The seats in FlyDubai, despite being a low-cost carrier, have ample legroom. The introduction of Recaro seats helps to relieve worries about overly cramped seating, dispelling the common belief that budget flights mean travelling in great discomfort. The business class seats also feature adjustable headrests and extendable leg-rests for better rest and relaxation onboard the flight.

Inflight Service

Further, new technology, namely Lumexis’ new fibre optic-based IFE system integrated with the Recaro seats maximises space by placing a large monitor in the seat backrest without compromising passenger room. This allows passengers to enjoy their inflight entertainment with optimal comfort. FlyDubai’s basic entertainment package offers a plethora of inflight entertainment, including TV shows, music and games for passengers who like to be occupied while travelling. For movie buffs, the premium entertainment package includes blockbuster films, allowing you to catch up on your favourite movie shows on your flight. Business class passengers have access to a personal HD touchscreen.

Meals

Apart from inflight entertainment, food is also available for those who get hungry along the way. Satisfy your hunger by choosing your preferred meal from a range of hot and cold snacks on the menu; there are a variety of sandwiches and wraps, as well as alcoholic and soft drinks. If you are taking a long-haul flight, do make food pre-orders early (up to 48 hours before your flight) to enjoy meal options outside of the usual onboard menu.
