Icelandair Airlines

Icelandair is the main airline of Iceland and has its headquarters at the Reykjaik domestic airport. Icelandair operates scheduled flights to 39 cities in 16 countries on both sides of the Atlantic, from Keflavík International Airport. Positioned ideally over the Atlantic, Icelandair, due to its geographical position can offer one-stop transatlantic flights to passengers.

The Airline is part of the Iceland Air group that owns the regional carrier, Air Iceland Connect. Icelandair also has code sharing agreements with Aeroflot, Alaska airlines, Finnair, JetBlue and Scandinavian airlines. 


The Icelandair fleet consists of 27 Boeing 757-200s, 1 Boeing 757-300 and 4 Boeing 767-300ERs.

Icelandair’s Domestic Destinations:

Icelandair currently serves only Akureyri and Reykjavik in Iceland.

Icelandair’s International Destinations: 

Icelandair currently has scheduled flights to Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, UK and USA. Icelandair also flies seasonal flights to Switzerland, Italy, and Denmark.

Available Classes

Icelandair has only Economy and Business Classes.


Travellers should always carry their passport with applicable visas for international flights. Government issued IDs will do for domestic flights. All passengers must have their boarding passes and photo ID at all times. Read in detail here.

Inflight Service

Wi-Fi is complementary for all Saga and Saga gold Class passengers. The inflight magazine Icelandair Info is published on a seasonal basis (4 times a year). All passengers will find it easy to use the AVOD in-flight entertainment system. Movies, TV shows, and music options are updated every month.


Icelandair offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, light snacks and hot and cold meals on both long haul and regular flights. Economy Comfort, Saga Class and children from the age of 2-11 get complementary meals. Special meals can be booked in advance on certain routes.

How to Check-in

All Icelandair passengers are expected to check-in 45mins prior to departure. Check-in times may change as individual airports may have specific timings. Web check-in can be done 36hrs to 60mins prior to departure. Click here and check-in online easily. Users will be prompted for passenger last name and booking code. Passengers can also use Apple’s IOS Passbook/Wallet application to link their boarding passes to your iPhone or iPod.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

All passengers are allowed to carry one personal item that can be stored under the seat. 1pc of Carry-on baggage cannot exceed 39x54x19cm or 9kgs in weight. Checked Baggage should not be more than 157cm (height+width+length). Saga Class passengers are allowed 2pc checked-in (31kg) and carry-on baggage each. Economy Comfort passengers are allowed 2pc checked-in (22kg) and Carry-on baggage each. Economy passengers are allowed 1pc checked-in (22kg) and carry-on baggage each.


Icelandair has 3 classes, Economy, Economy Comfort, and Saga Class (business class). All Boeing 757-200s come with 171 seats each, Boeing 757-300 have 216 seats and Boeing 767-300ERs have 259 seats each.
