This air craft is considered appropriate for the Nepalese conditions. A subsidiary company of Yeti Airlines, named Tara Air, was incorporated in 2009. The flight operations involving Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) were transferred to this new company. Yeti airlines have served millions of happy customers since then.
As of now, air craft fleet of Yeti Airlines is made up of seven Jetstream 41 air planes, manufacture by BAE Systems. Each of these planes has a capacity of 29 passengers. The subsidiary of Yeti Airlines has a fleet of DHC6-300 and Dornier DO 228 air crafts. DHC6-300 is manufactured in Canada, whereas Dornier DO 229 is built in Germany.
The Jetstream 41 is a prop air craft with twin turbo system. This air craft has earned his name by successfully operating in the non-STOL domestic terrains in Nepal. For the STOL terrains, DHC and Dornier air crafts are used by Tara Air, the fully owned subsidiary of Yeti Airlines.
