Finnair, is Finland’s largest airline and is headquartered in Vantaa. The main hub of Finnair lies in Helsinki airport. Finnair’s majority shareholder is the Finnish government. It is part of the Oneworld Airlines Alliance. Finnair’s corporate office is in the House of Travel and Transportation (HOTT), on the grounds of the Helsinki Airport. The airport is connected to the city via rail, bus and taxi. Finnair also owns Nordic Regional airlines and together dominate both domestic and international air travel in the country. Finnair has consistently been in the list of safest airlines in the world.

Finnair Plus, the frequent flyer program from Finnair, is partners with Nordic regional Airlines as well as the Oneworld Alliance Airlines and select hotel and car rentals.

Fleet:

The Finnair fleet consists of 10 Airbus A320-200s, 8 Airbus A319-100s, 8 Airbus A330-300s and 15 Airbus A321-200s. 11 ATR72-500s and 12 Embraer E-120s, that are owned by Finnair, are either operated or leased to Nordic Regional Airlines.

The domestic destinations Finnair serves are Vaasa, Huopio, Oulu, Kuusamo, Rovaniemi, Ivalo, Joensuu, Kittila, Kemi, Tornio and Helsinki.

Finnair’s International Destinations: 

Finnair currently serves Austria, Belgium, China, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore. Available Classes

Finnair has two classes with various facilities over long haul and short haul flights, effectively having two classes per flight but 4 classes in the organisational structure. These classes are Long Haul Business Class, Long Haul Economy Class, Short Haul Business Class and Short Haul Economy Class.

Inflight Service

For short haul and medium haul flights, Finnair offer a whole range of movies, general entertainment, music and documentaries on offer. Travellers will be provided with in-seat screens. Finnair offers Wi-Fi on their A350 XWB fleet. Digital reads like newspapers and magazines are also on offer. You may also pre-order taxis services at your destination.

Meals

How to Check-in

All Finnair passengers on domestic flights or travelling within Europe and the Middle East are advised to check-in at the airports 2hrs prior to departure and that the check-in counters will close 45mins prior to departure. For flights on all other routes, passengers must note that the check-in counters close 1hr prior to departure. Finnair also allows their passengers to check-in online or through smartphone app within 36hrs of departure. Passengers will be asked for the booking number or E-ticket number.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

1pc of checked baggage should be less than 23kg and 158cm (Length+Width+Depth). 1pc of carry-on baggage should be less than 56x45x25cm. Economy light passengers are allowed only carry-on baggage. Economy Value passengers are allowed 1pc checked baggage, while Economy Pro passengers are allowed 2pc checked baggage. Business Class passengers are allowed 2pc checked baggage. Business class passengers are allowed 2pc carry-on baggage not exceeding a combined weight of 10kg. All other passengers are allowed 1pc carry-on baggage less than 8kg. Seating

Finnair has 4 classes based on fare and distance - long haul business class, long haul economy class, short haul business class and short haul economy class. The Finnair fleet Airbus A320-200s have 168 seats, Airbus A319-100s comes with 138 seats, all Airbus A330-300s have 289 seats, while the Airbus A321-200s have 209 seats.

Booking Fees

Finnair does not charge a booking fee if passengers book from the website. There are three fare classes - Best, Smart and Basic.
