Uganda visa requirements for Indian citizens
Travellers need a visa to visit Uganda for Business.
A Ugandan eVisa is the fastest way to obtain a visa. Travellers can apply online. Once approved, travellers receive their eVisa confirmation electronically.
This electronic visa requirement doesn’t apply to the following travellers:
- Travellers who are transiting through Uganda and staying within the airport.
This visa is for travellers visiting Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya for business or tourism during one trip. Travellers can travel freely between these three countries, entering and exiting each country multiple times.
Travellers must start their trip in Uganda. The visa becomes invalid if travelling outside of these countries.
An eVisa is the fastest and easiest way of obtaining a visa as you can submit an application and supporting documents online. If approved, travellers receive their eVisa confirmation electronically. When travellers arrive at immigration they will be asked for their passport and eVisa to ensure they have proper documentation.
Travellers arriving directly into Kenya must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization.
Travellers need a visa to visit Uganda for Tourism.

This electronic visa requirement doesn’t apply to the following travellers:
- Travellers who are transiting through Uganda and staying within the airport.
Travellers need a valid passport to enter Uganda. The traveller's passport must remain valid for at least 6 months after the traveller arrives in Uganda.
Travellers require proof of a ticket showing their entrance and exit from Uganda.
This requirement doesn’t apply to the following travellers:
- Nationals of Uganda
- Foreign nationals residing in Uganda
Travellers should consider:
- Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B vaccines
- Typhoid vaccine for visits to smaller cities or rural areas
- Meningococcal vaccine for areas that are part of the meningitis belt during the dry season
- Routine vaccines including Polio and Measles.
